Life is Beautiful Festival

Now that summer’s over for another year, you might think that the Las Vegas events calendar becomes quieter and less crowded. Think again! After all, we’re talking Sin City – a city that never sleeps, even in the fall. Head down to this month’s Life is Beautiful Festival, a cultural extravaganza featuring music, eclectic cuisine and edgy art on the weekend of October 26^th and 27^th, and we guarantee that you won’t get much shut-eye.

Taking place not on the Strip but around the recently-refurbished downtown core, the Life is Beautiful Festival looks certain to be one of the highlights of this fall’s Las Vegas events. Where else in Sin City can you catch Southern rockers The Kings of Leon, who’ll be headlining on Saturday October 26^th, the genre-defying Beck, who plays on the same night, and Vegas’ own superstar indie-rockers The Killers, who’ll perform on Sunday October 27^th – all on one weekend?

As well as bands, there will also be an electronic music stage featuring celebrity DJs and an outdoor venue where the Cirque du Soleil troupe will perform excerpts from their shows Zarkana, Mystere and The Beatles – Love.

But don’t get the impression that the Life is Beautiful Festival is just about music. The weekend is also all about food. The festival’s Culinary Village showcases the gastronomic creations of more than 50 local restaurants in a massive – and highly aromatic! – al fresco market. The food on offer includes Japanese dishes from Kumi Japanese and Nobu Las Vegas, succulent grills courtesy of Michael Mina’s Strip Steak and Italian delicacies from Bratalian. If all that hasn’t whetted the appetite of your inner gourmand, we don’t know what will!

Aside from the festival’s culinary and musical delights, the weekend will also focus on visual art, showcasing the work of Puerto Rican muralists Alexis Diaz and Ana Maria as well as local graffiti artist Aware among others.
