Overview:
The brainchild of Steve Wynn, the man behind the Bellagio, the Wynn Las Vegas opened in 2005 and its sister property, the Encore, followed three years later. Together, they’re quite literally a winning combination. The duo has won multiple AAA five-diamond, Forbes and Michelin five-star awards.
Visiting guests will find that the plaudits earned by the two hotels are well deserved. Rooms at the Wynn are elegant and warmly decorated, while those at the Encore have a vibrant, angular design that draws on East Asian influences. Unfortunately, the Wynn’s suites, which were created around the philosophy of “life imitating art”, are almost as expensive as some paintings.
The two resorts’ fine dining options are also costly, though high prices are understandable when you eat in a restaurant as prestigious as Wing Lei, the only Asian restaurant in North America to have garnered a Michelin star. Equally impressive is Botero, where you’ll not only find superb seafood and steaks but also original artwork by the Colombian painter the restaurant is named after.
The Wynn’s nightclubs are as sophisticated as its restaurants. Surrounding the Encore pool, XS’ resident DJ is French house music superstar David Guetta, while Tryst is located under a 90-foot waterfall. If clubs aren’t your thing, join the audience of Le Rêve – The Dream, a water-based show springing from the fluid imagination of Cirque du Soleil veteran Franco Dragone.
Featuring a state-of-the-art casino, the Wynn and Encore is a luxury resort that’s sure to win you over – if, that is, you’re wealthy enough to enjoy its charms.
