Treasure Island Hotel and Casino

Location: 3300 Las Vegas Boulevard South (The Strip)

What makes it Special? Not sure what we were expecting with a name like Treasure Island Hotel, maybe something even more…thematic? Then we saw that it had been awarded the AAA Four Diamond Award for the last 14 years and was clearly not in need of our suggestions.

Entertainment Attraction: It’s hard to compete with Cirque de Soleil and their show Mystère.  But we do find Sirens of TI rather intriguing: singing, adventure and a good-looking cast are right up our alley.

Number of Rooms: 2,885

Overview:

Admittedly, we didn’t see Treasure Island Hotel coming and it caught us a little off guard (just like a pirate). With all the names out there like Bellagio, Wynn, Venetian, etc., you really need to put your best foot forward – TI has been doing that for well over a decade now.

Maybe it was the lack of a celebrity chef or the fact that there are only two regular shows. The Strip can spoil you with so much variety that it’s easy to overlook more humble pursuits that also deserve to be celebrated.

TI has six different classifications of suites, including the 1,800-square foot Penthouse suite. There are also seven different dining options besides the obligatory buffet. Included in that roster is the Kahunaville tropical restaurant, which features a Macadamia Crusted Mahi Mahi, a Piña Colada Chicken and a Flair Bartender Showcase.

TI manages to keep an impressive rotation of performers flowing through its doors.  With names like Bill Cosby, Whoopi Goldberg, Whitney Cummings and Carlos Mencia attached to the hotel, no one has been complaining about a lack of options.

If you’re one who enjoys their late night shenanigans, then we have found the place for you. Breeze Bar is a 24-hour casino lounge that comes equipped with video poker and flat-screen TVs. While it may stay open the latest, there is other game in town with the likes of Margarita Bar, Mojito Bar and Señor Frog’s.

And there’s no way Treasure Island Hotel would have received the AAA Four Diamond if it didn’t have a spa. Oleksandra Spa and Salon offers a variety of massages, including therapeutic, ayurvedic, hot stone, Lomi Lomi and more.
