Location: Off-Strip

What makes it Special? Prior to some recent rebranding and $7 million in renovations, the hotel was called Terrible’s Hotel and Casino Resort. That’s a whole different kind of special.

Entertainment Attraction: A casino floor that offers about 1,000 state-of-the-art games and a William Hill sports book.

Number of Rooms: 327

Overview:

The Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino knows exactly what it is – and they’re the better for it. There exists a market for people looking for a more extravagant hotel experience with all the trimmings: epic pool parties, A-list performers, rooms designed by [insert name of preferred designer of rooms here], etc. Silver Sevens offers none of these things – it doesn’t even come close to it.

But what they do offer are accommodations that give you exactly what you would expect from a better second tier Las Vegas hotel: good food (not a huge variety), clean and comfortable rooms (no luxury suites) and decent amenities in the form of a pool, hot tub and a 24-hour fitness facility (no Cirque de Soleil). The casino, while modest, also manages to get the job done and is more than satisfactory.

Silver Sevens has the extra touch of providing free shuttle service to and from McCarran International Airport. It’s also clear that they appreciate their guests, especially the winning ones. On the hotel website’s gaming page, there is a slideshow with snapshots of recent winners holding giant cheques with values of anywhere between $3,500 and $37,000.

Given the recent rebrand and renovations, it’s hard to say what the future business of Silver Sevens is going to look like. What we can promise for now is that while you won’t find any celebrities, you’re also unlikely to find much to complain about.
