Hotel Guide
Location: 200 North Main Street, Downtown
What makes it Special? You can peruse Main Street’s collection of worldly antiques through a self-guided tour.
Entertainment Attraction: The Fremont Street Experience. Although it’s a free event and open to pretty much everyone, it also means that Main Street has little need of exclusive performers at the hotel.
Number of Rooms: 406
Overview:
The Main Street Station Casino claims to have a “decidedly Victorian theme of yesteryear”. We’ve read Jane Austen, so we know what Victorian means in the traditional sense, just not in the context of a hotel. OK, technically Austen was around during the Regency Era but– you know, we’re just going to go ahead and stop right there.
Literary history aside, the deluxe suites at Main Street are actually quite charming and a departure from what you’ll see in most other places. Other hotel accommodations include a rooftop pool, which is pretty cool as long as you’re visiting between mid-April and mid-September. The hotel also provides shuttle service to both the Boulder Strip and Las Vegas Strip.
We like variety in our dining options – Main Street has just two: the Garden Court Buffet and Triple 7 Restaurant and Microbrewery. We’re inclined to cut them a little slack as the hotel only has about 400 rooms and is in close proximity to the Fremont Frenzy (just made that up). The combination of these two factors means that you don’t need to do a lot but whatever you do, you should do it well. Besides, you did see the word ‘microbrewery’, right? We love handcrafted beer almost as much as handcrafted Victorian-style wallpaper. We’re not trying to be funny – that stuff was pretty refined.
As far as entertainment goes, Main Street has the benefit of the Fremont Street Experience. When you have that on your doorstep you’re able to focus less on attractions and more on quality customer service and maintaining your 28,00 square-foot casino floor. We mean “Victorian themed” casino floor.
