Overview:

If staying on the Strip is your top criterion when searching for a hotel, you’ll be disappointed by the Gold Coast Hotel & Casino, which is located 1.5 miles west of Sin City’s glitziest boulevard. Neglecting this hotel because of its location, though, would be a mistake, as the Gold Coast has other reasons to recommend it.

The hotel’s exterior features attractive Spanish Colonial-style arches and tiling. This theme continues inside the Gold Coast, and has influenced the tasteful decoration of its 711 rooms. Unsurprisingly, the rooms aren’t cheap, though neither are they exorbitantly priced, and there are frequent deals.

Is bowling right up your alley? Even if you’re not a ten-pin fanatic when you check-in, you will be when you leave, courtesy of the Gold Coast’s 70-lane bowling center. Those who prefer games with higher stakes will also be in luck in the Gold Coast, whose extensive casino offers guests 1,900 slots and 49 table games. Aside from bowling and gaming, there’s also the Gold Coast Show Room, which features regular live music from bands like the Latin All Stars Orchestra.

Eating options focus more on casual dining – including a T.G.I Friday’s and Chinese restaurant Ping Pang Pong – than haute cuisine. The Cortez Room is your only real choice if you want to dress for dinner.

This is a great mid-range hotel choice, though it may not offer enough pampering for luxury seekers.
