Overview:
The Fiesta Rancho Hotel is closer to the Vegas action than its sister property, the Fiesta Henderson. But, we can hear you wondering aloud: how close is close? Well, it takes a little less than 20 minutes to drive into downtown Vegas from this resort’s location in the northern suburbs. Whether that’s too far depends, of course, on the amenities being offered.
Do the resort’s facilities cut the proverbial mustard – or should that be guacamole, given the hotel’s Mexican theme? We’ve started using food metaphors, so let’s continue by considering the restaurant options. These are the cream of Sin City’s Mexican cuisine scene, especially Garduño’s, which offers guests the best food north of the Rio Grande or in Vegas at least, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. More casual Mexican fare is served in the Blue Agave, which doubles as a bar specializing in margaritas.
Now that we’ve whetted our appetite and our thirst, it’s time to check out the Rancho’s evening entertainment. The resort offers a well-equipped casino – 1,350 slots, 14 table games and a 300-seat bingo hall are among the highlights – though the Fiesta Rancho’s gaming space is slightly less impressive than the resort’s sister property in Henderson.
Those less inclined to gamble can spend the evening in the Rancho’s Club Tequila, which spotlights Latin artists as well as local R&B musicians, or dance the salsa at the Cabo Lounge, which also occasionally books live musicians.
When it’s time for bed, the Fiesta Rancho’s rooms don’t disappoint. They’re tastefully-decorated and great value, though they could be a little more spacious. While the Fiesta Rancho Hotel may need space in some areas, in others it’s an excess of space – notably, the space between the resort and Vegas’ signature attractions – that may deter you from staying here.
