Overview:
Located in the Vegas suburbs around five miles west of the Strip, the Boulder Station Casino is now unfortunately a railway station in name only, so there’s no train to shuttle you into the heart of Sin City. The drive, however, won’t take guests too long and, besides, there are more than enough reasons for guests to spend their evenings in the hotel.
Probably the Boulder Station’s top attraction, even more impressive than its casino, is its concert venue, the Railhead, which has won three awards from the Academy of Country Music. Music fans that wouldn’t be seen dead in Nashville needn’t be alarmed: the Railhead hosts as many rock, blues and jazz acts as it does country ones.
While the Railhead may be a great place to blow off steam, the hotel’s casino won’t be neglected by guests. Boasting 33 table games, more than 1,400 slots and a poker room among other gambling attractions, Boulder Station’s gaming space more than holds its own against casinos on the Strip.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the restaurants at the Boulder Station, which offer guests a fairly bland selection of cuisines that are almost Vegas clichés. Anyone who’s visited Sin City only once will be familiar with unimaginative Italian places like Pasta Cucina or mundane Mexican eateries like Cabo.
At least guests at the Boulder Station can take solace in the hip, modern décor of their rooms, though they are relatively expensive for a hotel this far away from the Strip. It’s perhaps better to just chug on through Boulder Station for a concert at the Railhead rather than to actually stay there.
