Celebrate Halloween with the Las Vegas Zombie Run

Vegas Halloween

Most people associate Las Vegas with sitting – whether it’s watching a Cirque du Soleil show, enjoying a meal in one of the world-class restaurants or trying your luck in a casino. Sin City does, however, have a much more active side, and we’re not just talking about going clubbing at the LAX nightclub! So, get out of your Vegas hotel this Halloween and into the fresh Nevadan air by going on the Las Vegas Zombie Run.

What?! We can imagine your surprise at the concept, so we’ll provide a little explanation. Taking place on Sunday October 27th, the Las Vegas Zombie Run isn’t just any sort of charity run – it’s a race involving undead obstacles. To participate, runners don’t have to dress up – though they can get in the Halloween spirit if they want! – because the race provides enough costume-clad zombies.

At the start-line of the 5 k.m.(a little more than 3 miles)  or 1 mile runs, which take place on the Sunset Park Trails east of the Strip, runners are given a number of flags. During the race, you’ll have to negotiate hordes of zombies, who’ll try and steal your flags. If they rob you of all your flags before the finish line, then you’ve become one of them – a member of the undead! Check out last year’s Las Vegas Zombie Run to see what ghoulish frights await you:

Don’t worry if you lose all of your flags before the end of the race, though. The Las Vegas Zombie Run is for fun, but, even better than that, the event is also for charity. So not only will you get fit, have a great time and get scared witless by gangs of roving zombies, you’ll also raise money for the charity Generation Vegas, a non-profit organization working to promote local education.

So, what are you waiting for? You gotta get moving and register for the Las Vegas Zombie Run before the undead claim you!
