Arizona Charlie’s Boulder began life as Sunrise Suits on Las Vegas’ Boulder highway. In 2000, American Casino & Entertainment Properties (ACEP) purchased the property for $43.3 million, renaming it Arizona Charlie’s Boulder and turning it into a companion for Arizona Charlie’s Decatur. The new name was in honor of “Arizona” Charlie Meadows, one of Buffalo Bill’s sharpshooters and a distant relative of the Becker family, the original owners of Arizona Charlie’s Decatur. The Boulder location of Arizona Charlie’s is now one of three properties owned and operated by ACEP in Clark County, Nevada.
Located on the Boulder highway area dubbed the “Boulder Strip”, Arizona Charlie’s Boulder is a popular local casino with a full-service hotel and RV park, 301 rooms, 48,000 square feet of gaming space, a 24-hour bingo parlor, and a race and sports book.
Given its local focus, video poker is emphasized at the casino, though the property does have close to 1,000 slot machine games.
